Sea food is a great way to get a Paleo meal in.  Seafood in it’s original form is perfect protein.  Eat with a side of greens or even put your seafood on top of a salad and you have the perfect dinner.  There are a couple of caveats with seafood in this day and age.  One of the problems is the rise of heavy metals (mercury) and other PCB’s that pollute our oceans today.  A rule of thumb is the larger the fish, the more pollution it will have.  A polluted fish produces a polluted meal for you.  It stinks that we have managed to ruin this perfect food, but you can still enjoy seafood a couple times a week without any major setbacks.  Below is a list of some of the safest fish to eat.  You always want to buy ocean raised seafood vs. farm raised.  Studies have shown that farm raised fish have a much higher content of pollutants.  Stay away from farm raised seafood at all costs.  Fish and seafood is also a great way to get your omega 3 fats in.  If you have gone through the “Paleo BootCamp“, you know exactly why these “good fats” are so essential to your health.  Whether you an infant or 100 years old, omega 3’s hold the key to your overall health and well-being.  With that said, try to eat some “safe” fish at least twice a week.  Your body, your energy levels, and your health will thank you later.
